About
Michael Kan is a journalist working in China. He has worked for more than two years at the Kansas City Star, reporting on city government and education news. This blog originally began in the fall of 2008, while Michael was in Xi'an teaching English at a local university there. He currently resides in Beijing. Michael is proficient in Chinese and is currently studying the language at Tsinghua University. He is of Chinese descent, but grew up in America and graduated from the University of Michigan, double majoring in History and Asian Studies.
